Make a flyer with tear-off strips: for a lost pet, a room, a thing for sale, or work you do
A sheet of paper on a board still reaches the people who live nearby, with no account and no fee. Type a few big words, the details, and how to reach you, and this page draws the flyer with a row of strips along the bottom that people can tear off and take home. Add a picture from your device if it helps. Then print it.
Good to know
Before you put it up
- Everyone who walks by can read it. Think about what you want strangers to know. A first name and a phone number or an email address is enough for someone to reach you; the flyer does not need your home address.
- People who answer are people you do not know. If a call or a message asks for money first, a code sent to your phone, or a gift card, stop and open Is this a scam?
- Ask before you post. A shop, a laundromat, a library or a place of worship may have a board; ask the people who run it. This page does not know the rules of your town or your building about paper on poles and walls.
- Take it down when the pet is home, the room is rented or the thing is sold.
What you can change
- The big words at the top: up to 40 characters. Fewer words print larger.
- The details: up to 300 characters on up to 8 lines. Less text prints larger.
- A picture: one, from your device. It sits between the big words and the details.
- The strips: 8, 6 or 10 of them, each with the same two lines of up to 22 characters, or none for a plain sign. Leave the two lines empty to print blank strips and write on them by hand.
- The starting points: 13 of them, such as Lost cat or Room for rent. They fill in the big words and the first line of the strips, and you can change every word.
- The language: the flyer carries only your words, so it is in whatever language you type.
What this page does not do
- It keeps nothing. What you typed is gone when you close or reload the page. To keep it, print it or save it as a PDF.
- It does not post the flyer anywhere online and does not send it to anyone.
- It does not check your words, your spelling or your phone number. Read the strips once before you print ten copies.
- It does not look for a lost pet or a missing person. If a person is missing, open When someone is missing; in danger, call 911.
- It does not cut the strips: that takes scissors, along the dashed lines.
- It has been tried in one browser’s print preview (Chromium, saved as PDF), not on paper from a real printer. If the flyer does not fit your paper, the print window’s Scale setting makes it smaller.
Every time the page is built, a program makes 1,500 made-up flyers and reads each one back with a second reader written a different way: the number of strips, the two lines on every strip, the big words and the lines of the details. That checks the page’s own work, not your flyer.
Tools that go with this
- Is this a scam?: a few questions about a call, a text or an offer.
- Call script: know what you will say when someone calls about the flyer.
- Spell it out: read a name or an email address aloud, one letter at a time.
- Job search log and Resume builder: when the flyer is about work.
- An emergency plan for your pets: their details on one page before anything happens.
- Print a calendar: a month or a year on paper.
- Posters for this site, with strips to tear off too.
- All the free tools, and how to save them on your phone.
The tool and the wording around it were written with AI (Claude) for Scarlet Beast (our AI policy). There is no AI inside this tool: it only lays out your words. It has been checked by a program, not yet by people printing it at home, and the Spanish has not been read by a native speaker. It keeps nothing, so it has no line on My data on this device. Also in Spanish: Haz un volante con tiras para arrancar. Found a mistake? Email [email protected].
