How I work: a one-page guide to me
Some people call it a personal user manual. It is one page that tells a boss, a teacher, a new team or a housemate how to talk with you, what helps you do your best, what stress looks like on you, and what you bring. It is written in your words and shared on your terms. Most people finish in about ten minutes, and you never have to name a diagnosis.
Good to know before you share it
Sharing is your choice
You decide who sees this page, how much it says, and when. You can give it to one person you trust first, see how it lands, and share more later. Leaving something off is always allowed.
It helps to talk it through
A page works best as the start of a conversation. You could say: “I made this so we can work well together. Could we look at it for ten minutes?” Ask what the other person finds useful, too.
It is not a formal request
This page describes you; it does not ask your employer for anything. If you need a change at work, such as a quiet space or written instructions, the accommodation letter builder helps you ask for it in writing, which gives you a dated record.
Keep it alive
People change, and so do jobs. Read it again after a few months, or when you start somewhere new, and update anything that is no longer true. Your answers stay on this device until you erase them.
